Why Should I Care?
Developing this skillset means you can communicate confidently and enjoyably, with your exact intended meaning, in all areas of your life. It also unlocks your learning of any new topic or skill.
What?
Maths is the logic and reasoning that enables our understanding of everything in life. It continues to unlock universal truths that underpin all other sciences, technology, economics and engineering.
Why Should I Care?
This subject develops indispensable logic, reasoning and thoroughness which are incredible, effective tools for solving problems throughout our lives.

This is also a great time to develop exam-day routines, techniques and their attitudes to 'success' and 'failure'. A positive experience from exams at a young age can be really beneficial for tests throughout life.
Tutoring between age 11 and 16, and adults, working towards GSCE exams, including both Foundation and Higher tiers.
The English and Maths GCSEs provide fundamental literacy and numeracy skills which are essential for everyday life, further education and most jobs.
I've found also from personal experience that in this age group there can be enormous peer pressure to fit in, and not be seen by peers to be trying hard or to sound 'stupid' asking questions.
If your GCSE results don't go your way, it can really knock your confidence for many years. No fear! I'm here to help.
I'm really passionate about helping adults with literacy and numeracy - whether that's because they regret never passing that GCSE, because they have a training qualification to take which they're nervous about, or they just lack confidence and want to improve their knowledge.
A lack of confidence in English and Maths is a really common source of shame in adults (which it shouldn't be!) and can hold them back from doing important things.
This makes adults perhaps my favourite and most rewarding demographic to teach. Never hesitate to invest in yourself!
From June, I will offer tutoring for the 11+ Exam (GL Assessment) which is taken as an entry exam for Warwickshire grammar schools.
The 11+ exams cover the same subject areas as the KS2 SATs and Year 7 CAT tests:
Obtaining a place at a Warwickshire grammar school can be very competitive (especially if you're based in Leicestershire), so I have some recommendations of how I might work with your child which I'd be really happy to discuss.
Tutors can be a great help with homeschooling, both to give parents a much-needed break, and also to fill any gaps in subject expertise, particularly where it comes to the National Curriculum.
If your child has any established learning differences or special educational needs I'd be really happy to discuss this and how I might be able to support you, and them, to achieve their full potential.
